Why do I need Curseforge?

• It’s possible to download addons without it, but Curseforge allows you to keep them updated quite easily.
• Some addons are only on Curseforge now-a-days.

Downloading Curseforge

• Head to https://www.curseforge.com/download/app and click Download Standalone*
• Run the application.

Finding your WoW Directory

• Curse May ask for the location of your Wow Install, if you don’t know this you can find this using image below.

Different WoW Versions

• There are several types of WoW versionss. In most cases you will want to ensure “retail” is the one you’re installing addons to.
• Other possible versions are “Classic, PTR, Beta and so on”.
• You can check which version you’re installing too, in the upper right shown below.

Troubleshooting & Auto Updating

• It’s possible your version is set to an old/wrong path. Click “Gear” icon in the bottom left

Its possible your location is different, check where Curseforge thinks WoW is installed. Check if the game instance matches. Retail is what it should say. At the bottom is how you enable background auto-updating if you’re interested in that.
